Ways to read the calendar
The proper calendar can be read in three overlapping groups:
- The Trinity and the Redeemer: the solemnities and feasts that make the Order’s charism explicit, especially Our Lady of Good Remedy (Oct 8), the Most Holy Redeemer (Oct 23), All Saints of the Order (Nov 13), and St. John de Matha (Dec 17).
- Founders, reformers, and patrons: St. John de Matha, St. Felix de Valois, St. John Baptist of the Conception, St. Agnes, and the patrons associated with the Trinitarian confraternities.
- Saints, blesseds, and commemorations: the canonized and beatified members of the Order and Family, the Holy Name of Mary, and the November commemoration of the deceased.

- Optional Memorial: may be celebrated or omitted at choice.

Notes on the calendar
The calendar is the Order’s proper calendar, not the general Roman calendar. Some entries honor people who were members of Trinitarian confraternities or tertiaries rather than friars, and the calendar marks them accordingly. The confraternity named in these entries is the historical Confraternity of the Most Holy Trinity, not the Third Order. See Confraternities of the Most Holy Trinity.
The Curia’s summary table and its individual detail pages differ for a few entries. For example, the detail page for April 16 calls St. Benedict Joseph Labré an optional memorial, while the summary table lists a memorial; the detail page for September 24 calls Blessed Mark Criado a memorial, while the summary table lists an optional memorial. This page follows the summary table and flags the difference here rather than silently harmonizing it.
The calendar is a liturgical text. Local calendars, religious provinces, and particular churches may add celebrations or keep different ranks. Consult the current proper of the Order and your local ordinary for authoritative liturgical use.
